Social Timeline

Throughout my lifetime there were four major social influences, they are: family, school, peers and mass media. Each agent played a vital role in different ways to build up and make me what I am today. Family will definitely be the most crucial agent of all. The basic voluntary actions like walking and talking were taught by the family. The medium to express feelings and expressions, that is language was also taught by the family. The family imparts various fundamental values and beliefs in an individual which makes up his or her character. All the reactions, actions, thoughts and responses to other elements in the society depends on the character and the set of beliefs the individual has, therefore family plays the most important part in molding a human into an individual. The family also teaches and helps the individual to rationalize and decide about what is wrong and what is right or what is acceptable and what is not. Teaches the individual about the basic norms that are expected to be followed in the society and also reflects a cultural background on him or her. All these teachings stay with the person for a lifetime and all his actions are based on these beliefs taught by the family. Hence, according to me, family plays the most important part in making of an individual.
